About Álvarez-Mayo
Carmen Álvarez-Mayo is a philologist and Senior Fellow of Advance HE, currently lecturing in the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York. A Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology and experienced CMALT assessor, she is committed to student-centred, active learning that promotes creativity, intercultural competency and employability. Alongside her academic work, she has professional experience as a translator, interpreter, editor and voice-over actor, and has previously worked with institutions such as Instituto Cervantes and Leeds Beckett University.
