Prof. Chungmin Lee
Prof. Chungmin Lee is a distinguished linguist and cognitive scientist with an illustrious academic career spanning over five decades. A Fulbright fellow with a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Indiana University Bloomington, he is a professor emeritus at Seoul National University, where he established the Cognitive Science program. Renowned globally for his expertise in semantics, pragmatics, and cognitive science, Prof. Lee has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions like UCLA and City University of Hong Kong. He is the founder of the Journal of Cognitive Science and editor of the Language, Cognition, and Mind book series. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, Republic of Korea, his contributions continue to shape the field of linguistics and cognitive science.
Lee will present on “Attitude predicates and complementation: FACT, SAY, and Fiction.” His session, part of Words that Work: Language Solutions for Professional Excellence, will explore the nuances of attitude predicates and their role in communication, blending linguistic theory with real-world applications.
